The Article Enquiry mobile application ("the App") is an internal tool published by Jeyachandran Retail Pvt. Ltd. ("we", "us", "our") and is intended solely for use by authorised employees and partners of our organisation. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App collects, how we use it, and the choices available to you.
2. Information We Collect
- Account credentials: Your username and an authentication token issued by our server after you sign in.
- Branch and role information: The branch you are assigned to and your access level, used to scope what data you can view.
- Device camera input: When you scan a barcode, the camera image is processed on the device only to decode the barcode. Images are not stored or transmitted.
- Product enquiry data: SKU codes, barcodes, and search terms you submit are sent to our backend to return article, stock, and sales information.
- Diagnostic data: Basic error logs (no personal content) may be recorded to help us fix issues.
The App does not collect contacts, location, photos, microphone audio, advertising identifiers, or browsing history.
3. How We Use Information
- To authenticate you and protect access to internal data.
- To respond to your product, stock, and sales enquiries in real time.
- To maintain security, prevent misuse, and improve reliability.
4. Permissions Used
- Camera: Required for scanning product barcodes. You may revoke this permission in your device settings at any time; barcode scanning will be unavailable, but the rest of the App will continue to work.
5. Data Storage and Security
Authentication tokens are stored on your device using the operating system’s secure key store (Android Keystore). Data is transmitted to our servers over HTTPS. Access to backend systems is restricted to authorised personnel and protected by role-based permissions.
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your information with third parties for advertising or marketing. Data is processed solely on infrastructure operated by or on behalf of Jeyachandran Retail Pvt. Ltd.
7. Data Retention
Enquiry logs and authentication records are retained only for as long as needed for operational, security, and statutory purposes, after which they are deleted or anonymised.
8. Children
The App is intended for use by our employees and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Your Rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account information by contacting your branch administrator or writing to us at the address below. Because the App is an internal tool, account creation and deletion are managed by Jeyachandran Retail Pvt. Ltd.
